An exceptional fine pair of earrings, created in Roma Italy by the jewelry house of Cazzaniga, back in the late 1970. This pair has been carefully crafted in round bombe shape, with intricate patterns of baroque revival. Made up in solid rich yellow gold of 18 karats and finished with incised and textured patterns. The craftsmanship of this piece is impeccable and are embellished with a pair of natural earth mined reddish carnelians. Fitted at the reverse with posts for pierced ears and large butterfly support backs.

Carnelian: Mounted in bezel settings, with 2 round cabochon cut (10 x 10 x 6 mm) carved from natural translucent carnelian, with a weight of about 13.5 carats.

Weight: 21.3 Grams, (13.65 Dwt).

Measurements: Diameter of 19 mm (0.75 Inch) and stand up 10 mm.

Hallmarks: Stamped with the maker's mark, the Italian control mark, the mark for the assay of the gold and signed in full, "CAZZANIGA ROMA .750 AL *210ROMA".

Cazzaniga 

This company was founded in Rome in the 1929 by Angelo Giorgio Cazzaniga (1908-1973) in a place close to the famous Trevi fountain. Today, since the 1973 his son, Paolo Cazzaniga run the business. Still located in Rome but in a new location, 18 Passeggiata di Ripetta. Gazzaniga's salon is now by appointment, continuing to create only, one of a kind pieces for a very select clientele.

Collateral: They are accompanied by a presentation jewelry box.

Condition: The overall condition of this pair is excellent. Beside the little normal wear, there is no damage to the gold. Both gemstones are secured in the settings. These earrings has been carefully inspected to guarantee the condition and authenticity.
