Classic Edwardian brooch designed by Lucien Gautrait (1865-1937).

Gorgeous neo-classical piece made in Paris, France in the turn of the 19th century, circa 1900. It was crafted, with impeccable details in 18 karat yellow gold with accents of platinum for the diamonds setting and suited at the reverse with a hinged horizontal pin with a trombone lock.

Embellished, with applications of hot enamel over guilloche patterns. They are royal blue, green, crème and white. The platinum parts are accented by 61 old European cut diamonds with weight of 0.35 carats.

Mostly all the pieces known by this French master jeweler Gautrait, are pendants & pin brooches and sometimes nice bracelets, all made with notable details and exceptional skills in glass enameling that rival, with his contemporary Carl Faberge works from the same period. He was a great collaborator of the Parisian jeweler Leon Gariod and sometimes their pieces of jewelry are found with both signatures or non sign.

This brooch have a measures of 49 mm by 18 mm and a total weight of 9.95 grams

Is stamped with French hallmarks; the eagle's head for the assay and guaranty of the 18 kt gold and the serial numbers, "5448"

Note: Guilloché is used in fine jewelry to enhance the appearance of brooches, rings and pendants. Guilloché enamel refers to metal pieces that have been given the Guilloché treatment and then covered with a translucent layer of enamel, giving the geometric patterns underneath the enamel a colorful hue.

It is in perfect condition with great eye appeal.
