A magnificent pair of ear-clips designed by Angela Cummings.
An exceedingly rare master piece, conceived back in the 1980's by the genius jewelry designer, Angela Cummings. It was created at her own studio atelier in New York city. Is an artistic and sculptural oval clips-earrings conceived, with a dots patterns that wrap your lobe.
This pair was crafted in solid yellow gold of 18 karats, with brushed finish and embellished with multiples carvings of natural black jade and Australian opals. All gemstones are of the finest quality and exceptionally inlaid in the gold, creating an intricate mosaic pattern.
They are very comfortable and are suited, with omega backs for fastening clips. The posts option for pierced ears can be easily added on request.
This pair have a total weight of 27.4 grams and a measures of 29 mm by 24 mm (1.14 x 0.95 Inches).
Stamped inside three cartouches, with the maker's mark, the gold assay hallmarks and signed in full, "ANGELA CUMMINGS C. 18 KT 1986".
Angela Cummings was born in 1944 in Klagenfurt in Austria. She take her education at the art academy in Perugia, Italy and at the Zeichenakademie in Hanau, West Germany. in the 1967 she joined Tiffany & Co working under the guidance of Donald Claflin and in the 1975, she was the artistic director for her exclusive line brand Cummings. in 1984 she started her own line of jewelry to be retailed exclusively at an in-boutique store at Bergdorf Goodman, in New York city. now she's retired from the jewelry business.
A very nice and rare collector's piece, both her signed pieces for Tiffany & Co. created in the 1970's and 1980's and also her own exclusive pieces, remain highly collectible and are admired for their beauty, comfort and easily recognizably in style.
