*Tiffany & Co 1970 Angela Cummings Stripes clips earrings in 18 kt yellow gold with black jade
Geometric clips-earrings designed by Angela Cummings for Tiffany & Co.
Vintage pair created by Cummings at the Tiffany & Co studios in New York, back in the late 1970's. They are crafted in solid yellow gold of 18 karats, with high polished finish and embellished with, three stripes of carved pieces from natural black jade, creating a geometric pattern.
Suited, with omega backs for fastening clips and the post option for pierced ears can be easily added.
Have a total weight of 15.3 grams and a measures of 21 mm by 20 mm.
They are both stamped at the reverse, with the maker's mark, the inventory numbers, the gold assay hallmark and signed, "T&CO C 18KT 16847".
Angela Cummings was born in 1944 in Klagenfurt in Austria. She take her education at the art academy in Perugia, Italy and at the Zeichenakademie in Hanau, West Germany. in the 1967 she joined Tiffany & Co working under the guidance of Donald Claflin and in the 1975, she was the artistic director for her exclusive line brand Cummings. in 1984 she started her own line of jewelry to be retailed exclusively at an in-boutique store at Bergdorf Goodman, in New York city. now she's retired from the jewelry business.
A very nice and rare collector's piece, both her signed pieces for Tiffany & Co. created in the 1970's and 1980's and also her own exclusive pieces, remain highly collectible and are admired for their beauty, comfort and easily recognizably in style.
They are in perfect condition.
