TIFFANY & CO 1979 Elsa Peretti Nephrite Jug Jar Bottle Necklace in 18Kt Yellow Gold
A jug jar necklace designed by Elsa Peretti (1940-2021) for Tiffany & Co.
This is a very rare vintage jar necklace, created at the Tiffany Studios in New York City by Elsa Peretti, back in 1978-79. This model is rarer that the drop jug jar. This was conceived as a casual necklace with a free-form pendant in the shape of a double handles open jar at its mouth. Beautifully carved from a single piece of natural Nephrite Green Jade which is mounted from the handles with a links chain made up from 18 karats yellow gold. The most interesting fact about Peretti's pieces is that all of them are not equals, each piece have his own personality and are unique, with some variations in shape. This jug jar was made to hold a small decorative flower or just drops of perfumed oil. This original designs is copyrighted by the Nando and Elsa Peretti Foundation.
