Geometric pendant-brooch designed by Aldo Cipullo (1936-1984) for Tiffany & Co.

This is a very rare convertible pendant-brooch created in New York City by the jewelry designer Aldo Cipullo, between the 1965 & 1970. This gorgeous pendant has been carefully crafted with geometric patterns in solid yellow gold of 18 karats with high polished finish and embellished with four fancy carvings of translucent chrysoprase. It is fitted at the reverse with two fixed rings to wear as a pendant in a chain and a concealed hinge pin bar with a mechanical lock to wear as a brooch.

Chrysoprase: Mounted in concealed framed settings, with 4 matching curved flat cabochon cuts carved from natural vivid green chrysoprase.

Birthstone: Chrysoprase for the month of September.

Weight: 41.65 grams (26.72 Dwt).

Measurements: 56 mm by 56 mm by 13 mm (2.21 x 2.21 x 0.52 inches).

Hallmarks: Stamped at the reverse with the maker's mark, the mark for the assay and warranty of the .750/.999 gold and signed in full as follows, "©TIFFANY & CO. 18KT".

Aldo Cipullo 

He was an Italian born jeweler. He born and was raised in a family of designers with jewelry traditions; his father was the owner of a jewelry factory and his brother Renato Cipullo made jewelry designs for Christian Dior. Aldo, was the creator of the popular and iconic Cartier bracelets, love and the nail, still until today considered ones of the best designs of the 20th century. He works as a designer in New York, for David Webb (1960-1969) and Cartier (1969-1975). In 1975 he found his own company as a freelance designer.
