Celestial pendant necklace designed by Paloma Picasso for Tiffany & Co.

This is an extremely rare and unique celestial pendant-necklace created in New York City by Paloma Picasso for Tiffany & Co., back in the 1980. The amazing rare piece has been carved from a single spherical piece of polished lapis lazuli with parts made up in solid yellow gold of 18 karats and .900 platinum with high polished finish. The sphere is embellished with a great selection of fifteen natural earth mined diamonds, fleely set to recreate the stars in the firmament and is is fitted on top with a concealed ring to wear in a chain or the designer's black cord necklace as pictured.

As with the Lunar New Year, the Lunar New Year has incorporated celestial elements like crescent moons, shooting stars, and constellations into its designs.

Diamonds: The lapis sphere is mount in bezel and flush settings with 15 graduated round brilliant cut diamonds with a total weight of about 2.45 carats, white colorless E/F color, VS-1 clarity.

Paloma Picasso
