Convertible necklace brooch designed by Seaman Schepps.

Very rare and highly collectible piece, created at the Seaman Schepps atelier in New York city during the late art deco period, back in the 1938. This convertible necklace brooch has been crafted in solid white gold of 14Kt carats with high polished finish. Fitted with a retractable swivel bale to wear as a necklace and a hinged horizontal bar with a trombone lock to wear as a brooch.

Diamonds: Mount into bezels and four-prongs settings with 11 round old rose cuts diamonds with a combined weight of 4.65 carats, white colorless F/G color, VS-2 clarity.

Aquamarines: The five dangling parts are mounted with 5 natural Brazilian Blue Aquamarines with a combined weight of 35.89 carats. The aquamarines gemstones are not treated of heated in any way.

Weight: 19.85 Grams, (12,73 Dwt).

Measurements: The chain lenght is 15.25 inches (38.73 Cm) and the drop part is 52 mm by 48 mm (2.04 x 1.89 Inches).

Hallmarks: Stamped with the maker's mark, the gold assay mark and signed, "SEAMAN SCHEPPS 14KT".

Seaman Schepps was an American jeweler famous for his retro style, 1950's jewelry design. The company was established in the 1905 as an antique and retailer store. in the 1931 was founded officially as a jewelry designer in New York and the workshop store was located at 516 in Madison Avenue. in the 1933 the business was so successful that they moved to a larger showroom at the 399 in the same avenue. This legendary jewelry designer rose to the best prominence in the 1930s by creating designs that defied all previous ideas of what jewelry should look like and whose designs were worn by the Duchess of Windsor and Andy Warhol.The firm was sold in the 1992.
