An early art deco enthroned buddha necklace retailed by Fred Leighton

A statement piece, created in the northern Europe region during the early art deco period, circa 1915, most probably made in Austria or Germany.  This necklace was carefully crafted in .900/.999 platinum with details in yellow gold of 18 karats and fitted with a movable ring to wear in a chain as a pendant.

The carved seated buddha in enthroned in the center wearing a necklace and and is flanked by two Corinthian style columns decorated with two pieces carved from natural gray agathe. This is a very interesting piece made with masterful craftsmanship that mix several styles, such; the European neoclassic, the Edwardian and the art deco. This piece was retailed by Fred Leighton in New York back in the 1980.

Diamonds: Mounted in millegrain settings, with 122 old European rose cut diamonds, 2.44 carats, H color, VS/SI clarity.

Ruby: Inlaid on top, with 1 oval faceted cut natural vivid red ruby of 0.15 carats.

Gemstones: The buddha is carved from natural rock quartz.

Weight: 23.95 Grams, (15.35 Dwt).

Lenght: The chain is 15 Inches (38 Cm). Can be used in a longer similar chain.

Measurements: 70 mm by 28 mm by 9 mm (2.76 x 1.10 x 0.35 Inches).

Hallmarks: Electronically tested for .750/.999 18kt gold and .900/.999 platinum.

Note: Millegrain is a jewelry technique which refers to the textural effect of a close-set line of metal beads that are typically used as a border on the edges or bezels of jewelry.

Condition: The overall condition of this piece is excellent. Beside the little normal wear, there is no damage to the gold or the platinum. All gemstones are secured in the settings. This piece has been carefully inspected to guarantee the condition and authenticity.
