ANCIENT ROME 100 AD Amulet Seal Necklace in 22Kt Gold Mount In Tiger Eye
Ancient piece from the imperial Roman period, circa 100 AD.
A very rare amulet-seal found from the ancient imperial Rome period This piece is carved and smooth polished from a natural agate, which is mount in a pointed elements with a wire made up in solid yellow gold of 22 karats. Similar examples of this type of cylinders seals are know with carved symbols and inscriptions. Our piece have a length measure of 38 mm and 10 mm at the widest part. Most probably this was part of a bigger piece of jewelry like a necklace or a bracelet.

The carved agate has been re-mounted in a contemporary necklace of tiger eyes beads, with a customized toggle lock system. The ancient piece can be easily removed without affecting the integrity.
