This is a fabulous gem set cocktail ring created in Paris France by the jewelry house of Chaumet, back in the late 1980. The cocktail ring has been masterfully crafted in solid yellow gold of 18 karats with high polished finish and embellished on top with one vivid blue sapphire. Accented at the sides in channels settings, with ten graduated white colorless diamonds.
The house of Chaumet
The French born jeweler, Marie-Etienne Ninot began his career as an assistant court-jeweler to the queen Marie Antoinette. In 1780, he moved to Paris and founded the House of Chaumet, and was appointed as jeweler to emperor Napoleon in 1802. During this period, Ninot became one of the most popular jewelers in Europe, establishing a loyal and continuous prestigious clientele. today the house remains as a luxury jewelry house under the name Chaumet Paris. At the beginning of the modernist era between the end of the 60's and the beginning of the 70's, many jewelry houses, such as Cartier, Kutchinsky and Chaumet experimented with exceptional modernist designs, this brooch is one of them which we consider magnificent and very elegant.
Sapphires: Mount on top in a double C channel setting, with 1 oval faceted cut (10 x 8 x 5.5 mm) natural intense vivid blue sapphires of 3.35 carats.
Diamonds: Mounted in a French pave setting, with 10 calibrated emerald cut diamonds, with a total weight of about 1.36 carats, white colorless E/F color, VS clarity.
Birthstone: Sapphire for the month of September.
Weight: 8.95 grams (5.75 Dwt).
Size: 6.5 and may be easily resized up or down on special request.
Measurements: 23 mm by 16 mm (0.92 x 0.63 Inches) and raise 9 mm over the finger.
Hallmarks: Stamped with French marks; the eagle head for the warranty and assay of the 18kt gold, the atelier maker's mark inside a lozenge cartouche and signed as follow, "CHAUMET PARIS .750".
