CARTIER Paris Tutti Frutti St Petersburg Ring In Platinum With Carved Gems & Diamonds
Tutti Frutti cocktail ring designed by Cartier.
This is an exceptional and very rare cocktail ring, created in Paris France by the jewelry house of Cartier. The fabulous colorful ring has been made in a very limited edition based in the early art-deco Mughals designs for the Cartier's Tutti-Frutti models conceived between the 1920's and 1930's. The St Petersburg ring was masterfully crafted in solid .950/.999 platinum with high polished finish and embellished accents of black enamel and with a great assortment of natural earth mined gemstones, such one-hundred-eight white colorless diamonds and twenty-six fancy carvings of emeralds, chalcedonies and carnelians.
Tutti-Frutti History
The first Tutti Frutti piece was designed in 1901 by Pierre Cartier. It was a necklace commissioned by queen Alexandra to be worn with three Indian gowns she received as a gift. The designs are considered the perfect mix of east and west because they are made up of brightly colored gemstones (like sapphires, rubies and emeralds) carved using Indian techniques and set in French platinum and diamond mountings. The style became extremely popular during the 1920's, but it wasn't christened the 'Tutti Frutti' until 1970.

Carnelian: Mount in prongs settings, with 5 fancy leaves cabochons cuts carved from natural vivid red rubies, with an estimate total weight of about 1.22 carats.

Condition: The overall condition of this Cartier tutti-frutti ring is excellent. Beside the little normal wear, there is no damage to the gold. The 133 gemstones are secured in their settings. This pair has been carefully inspected to guarantee the condition and authenticity.
