Masonic 27th degree fob-seal from the Victorian Era.

Beautiful historical piece of the Masonic Scottish rite, created in England during the Victorian era, back in the 1890. This is a fob-seal pendant with the symbol for the 27th degree, crafted in solid yellow gold of 14 karats with textured finish. The piece has been designed with the compass and the pentagonal star in reference to the 27th degree of Knight of the Sun or the Prince of Jerusalem. It is embellished with a non engraved hardstone, carved from green-red bloodstone. The piece is fitted on top with a movable ring to wear in a chain, a pocket watch fob or a charm's bracelet.

Knight of the Sun 27th degree

In the Scottish Rite the 27th degree dramatizes an historic clash between Pope Honorius III and Emperor Frederick II. We learn that the apprentice should scorn selfishness and uphold the knightly virtues of charity, truth, and honor. The philosophy is for when tensions arise between church and state, one must be governed by his own conscience. The core value is tolerance.

The Scottish Rite

The Scottish Rite is one of the two branches of Freemasonry in which a Master Mason may proceed after he has completed the three degrees of Symbolic or Blue Lodge Masonry. The other branch is known as the York Rite, consisting of Royal Arch Masons, Royal and Select Masters and the Knights Templar. Through the ancient tools of the Stonemasons, Blue Lodge Masonry or “Craft Masonry” helps its member look inward and “build that temple within himself”, and from this insight of character building, he begins a journey which culminates into a better relationship with himself and those around him. Through Scottish Rite Masonry, that same Mason learns to understand his relationship with society and gains insight on both the mechanism and machinations of civilizations that he may be better enabled to assume a stewardship role within his community. Known as the “University of Freemasonry”, the Scottish Rite is the compilation of the many orders and degrees that were found throughout Europe and structured into Scottish Rite Degrees ranging from the 4º through 32º Masters of the Royal Secret. Based off of both their knowledge and continuous support of the Scottish Rite, members may attain the 32º Knight Commander Court of Honor (KCCH) and then finally the 33º Inspector General Honorary

Bloodstone

This gemstone is a mineral aggregate heliotrope also known as bloodstone, is a cryptocrystalline mixture of quartz that occurs mostly as jasper (opaque) or sometimes as chalcedony (translucent). The "classic" bloodstone is opaque green jasper with red inclusions of hematite. The red inclusions may resemble spots of blood, hence the name bloodstone. Bloodstone is often used to increase courage, motivation, and creative energy. It's also beneficial for endurance and physical strength. In addition, bloodstone can remove blocks that are keeping us stuck, which can help to revitalize our energy and create a clear path forward.
