Rare pendant Brooch designed by Sonia Younis for Tiffany & Co.

An exceptional collector's piece, created in New York city by the designer Sonia Younis for the Tiffany Studios, back in the 1971. This rare hexagonal pendant brooch has been crafted in the shape of a futuristic piramidal spacial station in solid yellow gold of 18 karats with highly textured finish. Fitted with a hinged horizontal pin bar with a security lock to wear as a brooch and a discrete bale to wear in a chain or a necklace. 

As a result of the race to conquer space, in the late 1960s and early 1970s, futuristic designs with hexagonal shapes and triangles with scalene angles became very popular. In turn, the designs with motifs of spaceship conceptions with similarities to Mayan and Aztec pyramids were exploited in all the plastic arts. This rare piece that we present here is a vivid example of this period and it is a fine example of the exquisite quality and craftsmanship for which Tiffany and Co. is known.

Hallmarks: Stamped with the maker's mark, the gold assay mark and signed, "TIFFANY & CO. 18KT".
