An Edwardian scarab pendant-brooch made in England

This is a very beautiful antique brooch, created during the Edwardian and the Art nouveau periods in England, back in the 1900. The colorful brooch was designed in the shape of a real life scarab in three dimensional, crafted with parts made up in yellow gold of 14 and 18 karats and .800/.999 silver. The body of the scarab is embellished with applications of blue, red, black and green enamels and is mounted with a great selection of sixty-one earth mined natural gemstones such: blue sapphires, rubies, European rose cut diamonds and one green emerald. It is fitted at the reverse, with a hinged pin bar with a mechanical lock to wear as a brooch. This scarab brooch is a very beautiful piece with intricate real details and exceptional craftmanship.

Edwardian Jewelry

This period was during the King Edward VII, after whom this period of jewelry history is named, reigned over England for only nine years, yet the style of jewelry known as “Edwardian” was created roughly between 1890 and 1920. Edwardian-era rings tend to be larger, opulent pieces, and stacked ring designs were popular. The metal surfaces of the rings were often diamond-encrusted for additional shimmer. Each of these rings is a work of art, showcasing a bygone era of grace, elegance and the royalty the Edwardian era is named for.

 Millegrain

This is a jewelry technique which refers to the textural effect of a close-set line of metal beads that are typically used as a border on the edges or bezels of jewelry.

Collateral: This brooch is accompanied by a presentation jewelry box.

Condition: The overall condition of this brooch is impeccable. Beside the little normal wear, there is no damage any part. All gemstones are secured in their settings. This piece has been carefully inspected to guarantee the condition and authenticity.
