Chaumet 1960 Paris Pair Of Turtles Brooches In 18Kt Gold With 13.82 Cts Diamonds & Gems

A suite of turtles brooches designed by Chaumet Paris.

Extremely rare vintage pieces, created in Paris France by the jewelry house of Chaumet, back in the late 1950s and 1960. These brooches, are a one of a kind pieces carefully crafted in the shape of lovely turtles in solid yellow gold of 18 karats and embellished with natural gemstones. They are fitted at the reverse with a hinged double pin bars with a mechanical twisted trombone lock for safety.

Gemstones: The body of the turtles are mounted with 12 cabochon mixed cut of natural blue lapis lazuli and pink rhodochrosite gemstones with a combined weight of 13.44 carats. 

Diamonds: The heads of the turtles are mount with 12 round brilliant cut diamonds, 0.38 carats, E color, VS-1 clarity.

Weight: Total 81.9 Grams, (52.58 Dwt).

Measurements: From the top view 54 mm by 39 mm (2.13 x 1.54 Inches).

Hallmarks: Each piece is stamped with French national marks, the eagle's head for the assay and warranty of the18kt gold, the maker's maitre cartouche inside a lozange associated to Chaumet, the serial numbers and signed full, "CHAUMET 7018 E 7018 I".

Note: It is very interesting both pieces are serially numbered with the same digits but with different alphabet letters. In our opinion it is probably just a few pieces has been made, each one with different color gemstones, the numbers correspond to the model and the letters correspond to the gemstones variation used.

Collateral: It is accompanied by a presentation jewelry box.

Condition: The overall condition of this piece is excellent. Beside the little normal wear, there is no damage to the gold. All gemstones, are secured in the settings. This piece has been carefully inspected to guarantee the condition and authenticity.
