Pair of clips earrings designed by Elsa Peretti for Tiffany & Co.

This is a very rare pair of clips-on earrings created by Elsa Peretti for the jewelry house of Tiffany & Co., back in the 1980's. This iconic pair of earrings are the extra-large size, crafted with free-forms as left and right in solid yellow gold of 18 karats with high polished finish. They are fitted at the reverse with comfortable hinged omega backs for fastening clips and the addition of gold posts for pierced ears can be easily done. 

Weight: 12.2 Grams, (7.60 Dwt). 

Measurements: 30 mm by 16 mm by 7 mm (1.18 x 0.63 x 0.28 Inches).

Hallmarks: They are both stamped with the maker's mark, the mark for the assay of the gold and signed in full as follow: "©TIFFANY & CO. .750 ELSA PERETTI".

Elsa Peretti was a very important and iconic American designer that joined Tiffany & Co in the 1974. She changes the role of diamonds and color gemstones in fashion for the everyday wear and elevating the status of the sterling silver jewelry. She mostly uses unusual free forms, gemstones and materials, all her creations are as modern today as ever.
