Modernist earrings designed by Hammerman Brothers.
This is a beautiful pair of clips-on earrings, created in New York City by the American jewelry designers of Hammerman Brothers, back in the 1980. These great earrings were designed with geometric modernism patterns and carefully crafted in solid yellow gold of 18 karats with high polished finish. They are embellished with eight fancy carvings of black onyxes and fitted at the reverse with comfortable omega backs for fastening clips. The addition of gold posts for pierced ears may be easily done.
Onyx: Mounted in concealed prongs settings, with 8 triangular cabochon cuts carved from natural black onyxes.
Weight: 41.45 Grams, (26.57).
Measures: 32 mm by 32 mm (1.26 x 1.26 Inches).
Hallmarks: They are both stamped with the maker's mark, the designer's logo and the mark for the assay and warranty of the gold and signed as follows, "HB 18KT".
Hammerman Brothers
The company was founded by Benjamin, Bernard, and Hyman. They were descended from an eastern European family of goldsmiths who excelled in the art of jewelry and watchmaking. Before they serve in the us army in the world war II, the brothers worked in the bowery in New York city, which at that time was a significant diamond center. In 1946 the brothers decided to go into the jewelry business for themselves in New York city.
