French neo classic convertible pendant-brooch.
Magnificent and very rare antique convertible necklace-brooch, created in Paris France during the the 19th century, circa 1870-1880. This gorgeous convertible piece, was designed as a pendant, a necklace and a brooch with neo-classic and late Victorian patterns. The main brooch has been crafted in yellow gold of 18 karats with a thin silver layer for the setting of the diamonds. Embellished with two cultured white pearls and sixty-six earth mined natural diamonds.
The convertible necklace-brooch is fitted at the reverse with two concealed hooks to wear as a pendant in a necklace, and a removable hinged pin-bar to wear as a brooch. The craftsmanship and the assembling method is extremely much superior to other pieces from the same period we has seen.
This piece is accompanied with an alternative platinum thin chain mounted with ninety-seven white seed pearls.
Diamonds: Mount in flush flat-prongs settings, with 66 graduated European round and rose cuts diamonds, with a combined approximate weight of about 3.46 carats, white colorless F/G color, VS/SI clarity.
Pearls: Adorned with 2 cultured round white pearls of 7 mm.
Weight: Total combined is 20.2 Grams, (12.95 Dwt).
Lenght: The removable platinum chain is 17 Inches, (43.18 Cm).
Measurements: The pendant brooch itself is 43 mm by 60 mm (1.70 x 2.36 Inches).
Hallmarks: Unmarked, electronically tested for gold, silver and platinum.
