CIGARROS 1900 Desk Cigars Humidor Box In Carved Wood And Sterling Silver

A "cigarros" humidor desk box in carved oak wood and sterling silver

This is a beautiful desk humidor box created during the late Victorian period, back in the 1890-1900. Most probably made in Spain or south America with parts made up in hand-carved dark-brown wood and five appliques crafted in solid .900.999 sterling silver. The box is embellished with linear patterns and fitted with a pair of hinges to support the lid. Decorated on top with four cornered appliques engraved with floriated organic patterns and in the center with another plaque formed by the cursive Spanish word, "Cigarros". It is in pristine condition with great eye appeal and antique patina.
