Geometric squared ring designed by Jean Dinh Van for Cartier.

A sophisticate geometric ring created in 1968 in Paris, France by the master jewelry designer Dinh Van. This wearable little sculpture was designed exclusively for the house of Cartier in 1968 and was part of a repertoire of geometric jewelry presented by the artist. 

This ring was crafted in solid yellow gold of 18 karats and the the surfaces are finished, with high polish.

The design of this ring, synthesizes the architectural geometric style that characterizes Dinh Van. The daring piece incorporates the composition of two geometric figurative elements; the oval and the square,

Bezel set on top with an oval cabochon cut (7.5 x 10 x 5 mm) of a natural vivid reddish tourmaline of 3.27 Carats,

The weight of this ring is 12.5 grams and fit a finger size up to 5, cannot be enlarged. The top view measures are 17 mm by 13 mm and raise 7 mm over the finger.

Stamped, with French hallmarks, the gold assay hallmarks, the serial numbers and signed, "CARTIER DINH VAN 18 KT c, 98298".

Jean Dinh Van is a French designer that began is successful career in the 1960 designing for the French jewelry houses of Cartier and Pierre Cardin. In 1972 he started his own company and the followed years his revolutionary designs and style caught on quickly and launched him to the forefront of the jewelry and fashion world. All his designs are very geometric and modern, both, his original vintage pieces created for Cartier and the contemporary creations are highly collectible. Dinh Van pieces are very fashionable, sophisticate and easy to wear, also can be displayed as a small toys, sculptures and "objects du Vertu".
