BVLGARI Roma-Paris Geometric Clips-On Earrings In Solid 18Kt Gold With Hematite

This is a very nice pair of geometric clips-on earrings created in Paris France by the jewelry house of Bvlgari, back in the 1980. The pair has been carefully crafted with modernist and patterns in solid gold of 18 karats with high polished finish. They are embellished with two carvings of faceted hematite and fitted at the reverse with a pair of comfortable hinged French omega backs for fastening clips. The addition of gold posts for pierced ears can be easily done if is need.

Hematite: Mounted in bezel settings, with 2 matching triangular faceted cuts of natural black-gray hematite, with a weight of about 12 carats.

Birthstone: Hematite for the month of March.

Weight: 18.95 Grams (12.15 Dwt.).

Measurements: 20 mm by 20 mm (0.79 x 0.79 Inches).

Hallmarks: They are both stamped at the reverse with French and Italian marks, the maker's mark, the mark for the assay and warranty of the 18kt gold and signed in full as follow; "BVLGARI .750 MADE IN FRANCE Ste. A *2337AL".

The company was founded in the late 19th century by Sotirio Bulgari, who was born in 1857 in Greece and was descended from a talented family of silversmiths. In 1884 he opened his first shop in Rome on the Via Sistine, and then in 1905 he moved to the actual flag's store in Via dei Condotti. Upon Sotirio death in 1932 his sons, Giorgio and Costantino, took over the business. They are credited with creating the highly distinctive ‘Bvlgari’ style, inspired by Greek and Roman classicism revival, the Italian Renaissance, and the 19th century Roman school of goldsmiths. The 1970s marked the beginning of Bulgari’s international expansion with the opening of stores in New York (the first overseas), Paris, Geneva and Monte Carlo.
