An antique vesta box with Spanish-American War motifs.
This is an amazing and rare vesta matches box, created in America with Spanish-American War motifs, back in the 1899-1900. The vesta box has been crafted in solid sterling silver with embossed and repoussé of several war heroes. The box depicts the portrait busts of several main figures from both sides of the conflict, such; the Admiral Sampson, the Admiral & Commodore George Dewey, Teddy Roosevelt, Admiral Cervera and Admiral Patricio Montojo. The craftmanship and condition is exceptional with little trace of wear, very sharp and crisp with beautiful, aged patina.

Hallmarks: Stamped with the maker's mark, the model number and the mark for the assay of the silver as follow: "STERLING 4103".
