A vintage large photograph of early McDonald's restaurant

This is a very interesting original vintage photograph showing an early McDonald's outdoors restaurant with multiples customers and employees. This fantastic photograph looks to be taken in the early 1955 in Des Plaines Illinois or Atlanta Georgia, to be displayed in the company corporate offices. Very well preserved with all corners intact and presented in a white museum mat. Very artistic with great light and highly decorative piece to be exhibit in your home's kitchen or office. The first McDonald's restaurant opened in 1940 in San Bernardino, California. The brothers Richard and Maurice McDonald initially named it "McDonald's Bar-B-Q" and focused on barbecue food. They later revamped the restaurant in 1948, streamlining operations and introducing the "Speedee Service System" to focus on speed and efficiency. In 1955 Ray Kroc opens the first franchised McDonald's restaurant in Des Plaines, Illinois, marking the beginning of the modern McDonald's chain. However, Kroc's Des Plaines location is significant as it marked the beginning of the widespread McDonald's franchise system. The original building was later demolished, but a replica was built and served as a museum until it was also torn down in 2018, please see second figure.

This is the oldest still operating McDonald's in the world! It opened Aug. 18, 1953. And was the 3rd McDonald's built.

Medium: Matte non-glossy photograph.

Weight: About 2 pounds, (0.92 Kg).

Measurements: 508 mm by 610 mm, (20 x 24 Inches).

ConditionThe overall condition of this large photograph is excellent. Beside the little normal wear, there is no damage. All parts and corners are secured in the mat. This McDonald's photograph was carefully inspected to guarantee the condition and authenticity.
