Cartier Paris 1930 Art Deco Lacquered Geometric Desk Cock In 935 Sterling Silver

Geometric desk clock designed by Cartier.

This fabulous one of a kind desk table clock is an epitome of the French art deco design. Has been exceptionally designed in Paris by the luxury house of Cartier back in the 1930. This rare clock has been crafted with geometric and triangular shapes in solid .935/.999 sterling silver and is mount in a rectangular green marble base. Embellished at each sides, with panels decorated with applications of blue and white French lacquer, showing an artistic arrangement of several numbers eights.

Cartier Clocks

From 1919 to 1936, Cartier created some of the world's most extraordinary clocks. Cartier Art Deco period creations took inspiration from Egyptian, Persian, Indian, Chinese, Greek and Japanese cultures and motifs. They were highly imaginative and fanciful, using a full arsenal of fine jewels and precious stones. The atelier's production of fine desk timepieces has been in demand ever since, with many popular designs from the Art Deco period re-imagined for the modern client.

Dial: Rectangular in white lacquer, with black Arabic numerals and blackened steel hands. Inscribed, Cartier Paris, Swiss.

Movement: Swiss Made, Jaeger-LeCoultre Mechanical winding, 15 jewels, 8 Days, Caliber 10-8.

Measurements: 501.65 mm by 142.2 mm by 70 mm (19.75 x 5.6 x 2.76 Inches).

Hallmarks: The silver body is stamped with French marks for export, the maker's mark, the mark for the assay of the silver, the reference numbers and signed, "CARTIER PARIS STERLING".

Provenance: Cartier Paris. Retailed in Cartier New York. A private collection in California, Acquired in 2021.

Condition: The condition of this clock is exceptional, with no trace of wear. There is no damage to the silver and all parts are secured in their settings. This Cartier piece has been carefully inspected to guarantee the condition and authenticity.
