-Cartier Paris 1925 Art Deco Enamel Vanity Case In 18 Kt Yellow Gold And Moonstones
An Art deco vanity and writing case designed by Cartier.
A stunning and magnificent vanity case, created during the art deco period in Paris France by the house of Cartier, back in the 1925. This stunning piece has been designed with geometric rectangular patterns and carefully crafted in solid yellow gold of 18 karats. Made of rectangular outline in polished gold and decorated with white enamel stripes, centering upon an applied white enamel rectangular motif, with white enamel borders.
With a cabochon thumbpiece, revealing a sliding open to release a hinged mirror, the reverse of which set with an ivory writing tablet, with an accompanying gold and cabochon pencil, opening to reveal a covered compartment, and a lipstick holder.
The complete case components are a beveled mirror, a powder compartment, a retractable lipstick holder a mechanical pencil and a writing panel.
It is fitted with a detachable chain made in 18 karats gold with with enamel and eight round white pearls of 1.5 mm.
Moonstones: Mount in bezel settings, with 2 round cabochon cut of natural cat's eye moonstones, with a weight of 0.70 carats.
Weight: 137.96 Grams or 4.43 Ounces (88.61 Dwt).
Measurements: 85 mm by 42 mm by 12.5 mm (3.35 x 1.65 x 0.49 Inches).
Hallmarks: Stamped with the maker's mark, the serial numbers and signed, "CARTIER NY 1072".
