-Austrian 1900 Vienna Agate Vesta Box In 18Kt Yellow Gold With Carved Essex Glass

An Austrian  agate vesta box with Essex glass.

Gorgeous vesta matches box, created during the Edwardian Period in Vienna Austria, circa 1900. Made up in two parts carved from natural translucent brownish agate, which are attached to a frame crafted in solid yellow gold of 18 karats with high polished finish. The 18kt gold double frame is fitted with a hinge an a push pressure thumb. The bottom is carved with incised lines to ignite the matches and the top of the lid is decorated with an oval framed panel screwed from the interior and depict the bust of a horse carved in Essex glass and color enamel

This fabulous box is virtually in mint condition and appear to be never used. Actually this can be used as a luxury pill box.

Hallmarks Stamped with Austrian empire marks for small pieces, the A for the city of Vienna, the maker's mark AR and the mark of the dog with number 4 inside a cartouche for the assay of the 18kt gold.

Collateral: It is accompanied by a presentation jewelry box.

Condition: The overall condition of this vesta box is excellent. Beside the little normal wear, there is no damage to the gold. All parts are secured in the settings. This box has been carefully inspected to guarantee the condition and the authenticity.
