Very rare bangle cuff designed by David Webb.
A magnificent one of a kind piece, created in New York city by the iconid David Webb, back in the late 1960's. This impressive bracelet cuff has been crafted with scrolls and twisted patterns in solid yellow gold of 18 karats and parts in platinum for the setting of the diamonds. The entire surface is treated with textured and hammered finishes. It is mount with an exuberant selection of natural earth mined diamonds and is fitted with a tension security lock for fastening.
Diamonds: Mount in a pave setting, with 136 calibrated round brilliant cut diamonds, 9.52 carats, white colorless E/F color, VS-1 clarity.
Birthstone: For the month of April.
Weight: 143.20 Grams, (91.79 Dwt).
Size: Fit a wrist up to 6.25 Inches (16 Cm).
Measurements: Top elements are 32 mm by 20 mm (1.18 x 0.79 Inches).
Hallmarks: Stamped with the maker's mark, the mark for the assay of the gold, the serial number and signed, "WEBB 18KT MA24 ©WEBB".
David Webb (1925-1975), was an American jeweler. On July 28, 1948, he founded David Webb, the company, which opened at 2 West 46th Street. Among his clients were Elizabeth Taylor, Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis and Barbara Streisand and Beyoncé have also worn his jewelry. He born in Asheville, North Carolina in 1925, Webb was a self-taught designer whose work included dragon bracelets, Maltese cross brooches and animal motifs. In 1964, The Duke of Windsor purchased a bracelet for his wife. Diana Vreeland, a noted columnist and editor of Harper’s Bazaar and Vogue, was often seen with a David Webb black-and-white enamel zebra bangle.
