French Edwardian guilloche enamel brooch.

An exceptional piece of art jewelry, created in Paris France during the Edwardian belle epoque period, back in the 1900. This brooch has been designed in the style of Louis XVI, with fabulous craftsmanship in platinum and 18 karats yellow gold. It is embellished in the center with applications of vivid blue enamel over a guilloche radiant surface and white enamel in the border frame. Fitted at the reverse with a hinged horizontal pin bar to wear as a brooch and two bales to wear in a chain.

This piece is stunning, extremely beautiful and with impeccable details, intricately embellished with tassels, ribbons and garlands. This piece is without a doubt a French neoclassical work of art, where several very difficult jewelry techniques are assembled together.

Diamonds: The platinum parts are mounted in a micro millegrain finish setting, with 140 old European round diamonds.

Weight: 15.4 Grams, (9.87 Dwt).

Measurements: 42 mm by 21 mm (1.65 x 0.83Inches).

Hallmarks: Stamped with French marks.

Note: Millegrain is a jewelry technique which refers to the textural effect of a close-set line of metal beads that are typically used as a border on the edges or bezels of jewelry.

NoteGuilloché is used in fine jewelry to enhance the appearance of brooches, rings and pendants. Guilloché enamel refers to metal pieces that have been given the Guilloché treatment and then covered with a translucent layer of enamel, giving the geometric patterns underneath the enamel a colorful hue.

Collateral: It is accompanied by a presentation jewelry box.

ConditionThe overall condition of this piece is excellent. Beside the little normal wear, there is no damage to the gold. All diamonds are secured in the settings. This piece has been carefully inspected to guarantee the condition and authenticity.
