French parure set of pendant and earrings.
Fabulous antique set composed by a pair of drop earrings and a convertible pendant brooch. Created in Paris France, back in the 1860-1870 during the period of Napoleon III. This set has been carefully crafted in three colors of 18 karats gold and embellished with three enamelled oval medallions made at the Limoges Royal factories.
The pendant is convertible to brooch removing the upper part and is fitted with a hinged horizontal bar with a security lock. The earrings are fitted with French wires hooks for pierced ears. This is an extremely beautiful set in perfect condition with absolutely no trace of obvious wear.
Gemstones: Accented with 3 round halves white pearls.
Weight: 28.95 Grams, (18.55 Dwt).
Pendant Measurements: Drop of 89 mm by a width of 31 mm (3.5 x 1.22 Inches).
Earrings Measurements: Drop of 60 mm by a width of 18 mm (2.36 x 0.71 Inches).
Hallmarks Stamped with French marks; three times with the maker's mark SV inside a lozange cartouche with a bunch of grapes and the two times with the mark for the assay and warranty of the gold.
Note: The presentation fitted box still have attached to the bottom, an sticker stating the karats of 18kt and the retail cost price for 32 Francs and 20 Centimes. This amount was equivalent to 3 months of work back in the middle of the 19th century.
Collateral: This set is accompanied by the original presentation fitted jewelry box in wood and leather..
Condition: The overall condition of this set is excellent. Beside the little normal wear, there is no damage to the gold. All parts are secured in the settings. This piece has been carefully inspected to guarantee the condition and the authenticity.
