An statement cocktail ring designed by Erwin Pearl.

This oversized piece, is a one-of-a-kind cocktail ring designed by Erwin Pearl in New York city, back in the early 1960's.  It was crafted with retro and brutalism patterns in solid 18 karat yellow gold, with highly textured surfaces.

Display on top, a massive sugar loaf cabochon cut (18 x 25 x 15 mm) of a natural vivid purple Brazilian amethyst, with a weight of 45.28 carats. The gemstone is affixed to the ring by multiple prongs that appear to be growing branches coming out the design.

It is pretty heavy and large, with a total weight of 36.95 grams and a top view measures of 30 mm by 24.3 mm (1.18 x 1 inches) and raise 22 mm over the finger.

The actual size is 6.5, sizable. 

Stamped, with the maker's mark, the gold assay hallmarks and signed, "E. PEARL 18 KT".
