Pair of clips-on earrings designed by David Webb (1925-1975).

A vintage pair of clips-on earrings, created in New York city at the jewelry atelier of David Webb, back in the 1970's. These pair of earrings were designed as left and right pairs and crafted with a wavy patterns of wires in solid rich yellow gold of 18 karats a polished finish. They are fitted at the reverse with comfortable French omega backs for fastening clips and the addition of posts for pierced ears can be easily done.

Weight: 21.2 Grams (13.55 Dwt.).

Measurements: 29 mm by 16 mm by 12 mm (1.14 x 0.63 x 0.47 Inches).

Hallmarks: They are both stamped, with the maker's mark, the gold assay hallmark and signed, "WEBB© 18 KT".

David Webb 

He was an American jeweler. On July 28, 1948, he founded David Webb, the company, which opened at 2 West 46th Street. Among his clients were Elizabeth Taylor, Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis and Barbara Streisand and Beyoncé have also worn his jewelry. Born in Asheville, North Carolina in 1925, Webb was a self-taught designer whose work included dragon bracelets, Maltese cross brooches and animal motifs. In 1964, The Duke of Windsor purchased a bracelet for his wife. Diana Vreeland, a noted columnist and editor of Harper’s Bazaar and Vogue, was often seen with a David Webb black-and-white enamel zebra bangle.

Condition: The overall condition of these earrings are excellent. Beside the little normal wear, there is no damage to the gold. This pair has been carefully inspected to guarantee the condition and the authenticity.
