*Cartier 1960 Paris humming bird brooch in 18 kt yellow and platinum with diamonds & rubies
Very Rare pin-brooch designed by Cartier.
An extraordinary vintage piece created in Paris France around the 1960's. This beautiful Humming bird brooch was part of the very popular and iconic collection of the, Cartier Maison Menagerie, created in the 1930's.
Is exceptionally crafted in solid 18 karats yellow gold with platinum settings. The bird is resting on a tree branch and the entire body is carved, with intricate textures, imitating the bird's feathers. No small detail is left out for this piece from the texture of the body, the tail and the tree branch.
Constructed and assembled with two elements, the main body and the wing, both parts are attached together with a discrete screw. Suited at the reverse with a hinged pin bar with a trombone lock.
The eye is accented with a round cabochon cut of natural red ruby (.05 Ct) and the tree branch is set with 3 round European cut diamonds, .09 cts, E/F color, VS clarity.
This piece have a total weight of 9.4 grams and a measures of 36 mm (1.42 inches) by 37 mm (1.46 inches).
Stamped with very clear French hallmarks; the eagle head for the assay and guaranty of the 18 kt gold, the head of Minerva for export, the maker's cartouche mark for EDH, the unique 4 digits serial number and signed, "CARTIER MADE IN FRANCE 18 KT 4293".

It is in impeccable condition with great eye appeal. All parts are original and the aged patina is intact. The Cartier jewelry box accompanied this piece.
