Geometric pendant-brooch with gemstones designed by Haroldo Burle Marx (1911-1991).

Very rare sculptural piece, created in Brazil by the artist-jeweler Haroldo Burle Marx. This geometric pendant-brooch was crafted in the early 1970's in rich solid yellow gold of 18 karats, with textured patterns. It was finished with the characteristic Marx's Florentine patterns.

This is an exceptional and wearable sculptural piece from the Brazilian concretism art movement and is suited, with a bale to wear as a pendant and a hinged double stem pins with a trombone lock to wear as a brooch.

Is embellished, with 10 round bezels that are holding round cabochon cuts gemstones. All gems are of the highest quality, are natural with great saturation, excellent clarity and from Brazilian origins. They are, 2 green tourmaline (4.45 cts), 1 white opal (2 cts), 1 blue aquamarine (.50 cts), 4 red rubelite (4.15 cts), 1 green emerald (0.30 cts) and 1 violet amethyst (0.75 cts). The total combined weight is 12.15 carats.

Have a weight of 34.4 grams and diameter measure of 54 mm (2.12 inches).

stamped at the inside border with the company logo and the hall marks "BURLE MARX 18 KT BRASIL GB 792".

This piece have an obvious collaboration between three big names of the Brazilian arts; Haroldo Burle Marx (1911-1991) the designer and jeweler with galleries in brazil and Washington DC., Bruno Guidi the master chief goldsmith and lead designer of Burle Marx and finally Roberto Burle Marx (1909-1994), Haroldo's brother, designer and a landscape architect.

 Provenance: The Altomar collection Washington DC, A private collection from New York.

Collateral: They are accompanied by a presentation jewelry box.

Condition: The overall condition of this brooch is excellent. Beside the little normal wear, there is no damage to the gold. All the gemstones, are secured in the settings. This pendant has been carefully inspected to guarantee the condition and authenticity.
