A mid-century sculptural ring designed by Haroldo Burle Marx.

This is one of the very early examples ring of the forma livre collection. Designed in brazil during the mid-century period, circa 1960's  It was crafted in 18 karats yellow gold and the surface is decorated with a Florentine textured finish.

This is a wearable art-piece and a very nice example of the Brazilian concretism art.

Featuring in the center, in a bezel, one free-form (Forma Livre) cabochon cut carved from natural Brazilian blue-green amazonite jade gemstone, with an estimate weight of 38 carats.

Weight: 14.8 grams (9.49).

Size: 4.75, sizeable.

Measurements: From top view are 26 mm by 22 mm (1.02 by 0.87 Inches). 

This piece have an obvious collaboration between three big names of the Brazilian arts; Haroldo Burle Marx (1911-1991) the designer and jeweler with galleries in brazil and Washington DC., Bruno Guidi the master chief goldsmith and lead designer of Burle Marx and finally Roberto Burle Marx (1909-1994), Haroldo's brother, designer and a landscape architect.

Provenance: The Altomar collection Washington DC,, A private collection from New York.

Collateral: They are accompanied by a presentation jewelry box.

Hallmarks: Stamped with the maker's mark and the gold assay mark, "BM 18KT".

Condition: The overall condition of this ring is excellent. Beside the little normal wear, there is no damage to the gold. The Jade, is secured in the settings. This ring has been carefully inspected to guarantee the condition and authenticity.
