A very beautiful snuff-pills box, created in Vienna Austria at the silversmith atelier of Leonhard Anzenhofer, circa 1915-1920. This box is closely to mint condition with no trace of use, is very rare and was carefully crafted in solid .935/.999 silver with high polished finish. This elegant box display one of the the highest caliber of workmanship we have ever seen for this type of pieces. It is extensively decorated with engraving and outstanding applications of rich red and black hot enamel.
Designed with elongated octagonal shape with chamfered edge and a rich red enamel cartouche in an elaborately engraved and partially enameled foliated scrollwork border. Fully engraved rim with wide thumb lift. Self-stopping cover on a flush 7-knuckle barrel hinge. The interiors are mirror polished with an impeccable gold vermeil.

Hallmarks: Stamped with Austrian-Hungarian marks; the mark for the city of Vienna, the maker's mark LA, the serial numbers 250 and signed, "MADE IN AUSTRIA .935 STERLING SILVER 250"
Condition: The overall condition of this box is impeccable. Beside the little normal wear, there is no damage to the silver. The enameled parts are secured in the settings. This piece has been carefully inspected to guarantee the condition and authenticity.
