Convertible necklace bracelets designed by Van Cleef & Arpels.
Beautiful suite of geometric bracelets, created in Paris France by the jewelry house of Van Cleef & Arpels, back in the 1976. These very rare convertible flexible bracelets and necklace has been carefully crafted in solid yellow gold of 18 karats with high polished finish. Fitted with hinged locks and a security slash for extra safety. These pair can be used together, alone or as a necklace.
Diamonds: Mounted in a French flush setting with 176 calibrated round brilliant cut diamonds, 6.24 carats, white colorless E color, VVS-1 clarity
Gemstones: Embellished with a geometric patterns made up with 32 elements (14 x 3.5 mm) carved from natural translucent green chrysoprase, with an estimate total weight of 39.5 carats.
Weight: Combined of 73.55 Grams, (47.15 Dwt).
Measurements: Each one has a lenght of 7.5 Inches (19.05 Cm), as a necklace is 15 Inches (38.1 Cm). The width measure of each one is 13.4 mm (0.53 Inches).
Hallmarks: Stamped with French marks, the national eagle head for the warranty of the gold the maker's mark Ste P. Fils (Societe Pery et Fils), the gold assay mark the serial numbers and signed in full, "VCA 76 FRANCE 18KT 46818.1 46818.2", (Respectively).
Note: Only two pieces has been produced of this model (46818) with chrysoprase, individually numbered 1 and 2.
Péry et Cie traces its roots back to 1875 when Monsieur Lucien Péry decided to expand his glove making company by diversifying into jewelry, beginning by making gold chains. At the beginning of the 20th Century he was joined in the firm by his son Albert who would go on to forge collaborative relationships with many of the prestigious Maisons of the Place Vendôme. Alongside Boucheron and Chaumet, one of the most significant of these was Van Cleef & Arpels. Albert was introduced to the Arpels brothers and soon after began producing jewellery for the firm, with the archives showing that the first piece, a gold bracelet, was made in 1925. Albert soon became friendly with Renée Puissant, the daughter of Esther Arpels and Alfred Van Cleef and this connection strengthened the association between the two companies. Péry et Cie were responsible for making the famous ‘passe-partout’ jewels for VCA (they made over 260 pieces for this collection) and these wonderful floral pieces are said to have inspired Renée to refer to Albert as a ‘petit fleuriste’. Other iconic Van Cleef designs to originate in the Péry workshop include the Ludo bracelets, Zip necklaces and many of the La Boutique animal brooches. (From Hancocks with thanks).
Note: Pery et Fils was a very famous jewelry makers doing a lots of jobs for Van Cleef & Arpels, Fred, Boucheron And Chaumet. We are very confident this gorgeous suite was made for one of this big Parisian jewelry houses.
Collateral: These pieces are accompanied by a presentation jewelry box.
Condition: The overall condition of these pair excellent. Beside the little normal wear, there is no damage to the gold. All gemstones are secured in the settings. This piece has been carefully inspected to guarantee the condition and authenticity. There are minimal microscopic marks in some chrysoprase pieces.
