This is a very sophisticate and rare geometric domed ring, created in New York city by Paloma Picasso for Tiffany & Co. back in the 1983. The ring is very aerodynamic and smooth and has been crafted as a "toi et moi", in solid yellow gold of 18 karats with high polished finish. It is embellished with two natural earth mined Brazilian gemstones such: a pink tourmaline and a green tourmaline.
Pink Tourmaline: Mount in a bezel setting, with 1 oval faceted cut (12 x 10 x 6.5 mm) of a natural vivid pink tourmaline of 4.81 carats.
Green Tourmaline: Mount in a bezel setting, with 1 oval faceted cut (12 x 10 x 6.5 mm) of a natural vivid green tourmaline of 4.88 carats.
Weight: 26.65 grams, (17.08 Dwt.).
Size: 6.75 and can be sized on request.
Measures: 21 mm by 26 mm (0.83 x 1.02 Inch) and raise 10 mm over the finger.
Hallmarks: Stamped with the maker's mark, the mark for the assay of the gold, the production's year and signed, "TIFFANY & CO. 18K PALOMA PICASSO ©1983".
Paloma Picasso
She was the daughter of the artists Pablo Picasso and Françoise Gilot, Paloma has been a creative force since the day she was born. Growing up in France, she was surrounded by art and was always encouraged to create herself, which she did with great enthusiasm—firstly, with childhood drawings and, later, through her now iconic jewelry collections for tiffany. Embodying the art and culture movement of the 1980s in New York city, Paloma was a progressive choice for Tiffany & Co. This ring is a serious collector's piece, rare and in perfect condition. As a note this model was also produced with other lesser valued colored gemstones, such citrines and amethyst.
