A very rare ring designed by Mellerio-Dits Meller.

Geometric sculptural piece, created in Paris France around the 60's and 70's. It was crafted by the renowned jewelry house of Mellerio in solid yellow gold of 18 karats

The design was conceived, with strong geometry and very sharp cubist patterns. is embellished with multiples three-dimensional carvings of natural lapis lazuli from Afghanistan. The gemstones are carefully placed, forming a cubic minimalist sculpture that raise over the finger.

The weight of this ring is 12.8 grams and the actual size is 6.5, sizable.

The top view measures are 20 mm by 21 mm and raise 12 mm over the finger.

Is stamped, with French hallmarks; twice with the national eagle's head for the assay and guaranty of the 18 kt gold, the maker's maitre cartouche STE. LFV, associated to Lasbleiz, Fournier et Vittielo, the unique serial numbers and signed, "MELLERIO PARIS 2699 R".

Mellerio-Dits Meller, is a French jewelry house, founded in 1613, and still active today. It claims to be the oldest family company in Europe. It gives its name to the Mellerio cut, a 57-facet jewel cut, shaped as an oval within an ellipse. Today Mellerio is based at Rue de la Paix, Paris, with branches in Luxembourg and Japan.

Note: The afghan, lapis lazuli in this piece have a lot of remains and traces of gold and pyrite, giving and extra shiny to the surface. we cannot track any other similar piece like this.

It is in great condition and a rare piece for any jewelry collector.
