Baroque emeralds ring designed by Mario Buccellati.

This is a beautiful band-ring created in Milano Italy by the famous jewelry house of Mario Buccellati, around the 1980. This vintage ring was masterfully crafted in the Baroque renaissance styles in two tones of 18 karats yellow and white gold. The ring is embellished with the Buccellati iconic Florentine etchings and mount with eight well matched natural green emeralds.

Country: Milano Italy.

Period: Baroque revival, 1978-1980.

Diamonds: Mounted on top in floriated bezel settings, with 8 well matched round faceted cut of natural green diamonds with a total weight of about 0.40 carats.

Birthstone: Emeralds for the month of May.

Weight: 7.4 grams (4.75 Dwt).

Size: 7.25 and may be only easy resized down on special request.

Measures: 8 mm by 24 mm, (0.32 x 0.95 Inches) and raise 4 mm over the finger.

Hallmarks: Stamped with Italian control marks, the maker's registry mark *15MI associated to Buccellati in Milano, the mark for the assay and warranty of the .750/.999 gold, the five-digits serial numbers and signed in full as follows, "BUCCELLATI ITALY 18K D3030 750 *15MI".

He was born in 1891 and opened his first enterprise in 1919, after the establishment of stores in Milan, Rome and Florence, began the development of his overseas business by opening a new store on Fifth Avenue in New York City in 1954 and another in Worth Avenue in Palm Beach, Florida in 1958. In 1949, Mario Buccellati was commissioned to create an icon by Pope Pius XII for Princess Margaret to mark the extraordinary power of the first visit of a British Royal to Vatican City in hundreds of years. This magnificent work of art can be admired today at the Chianciano Art Museum in Tuscany. In 1965, after the death of Mario, the management of the firm was conducted by four of his five sons. In 1971, the new brand Gianmaria Buccellati was launched by one of Mario's sons, who started a separate business from his brothers, and in 2011 came to an agreement with his relatives for the brand Buccellati, then Buccellati Holding Italia, reshape the company.
