Geometric necklace designed by John Victor Rorvig (1920-2006).  

A very elegant Scandinavian piece with curved geometric lines, created in Copenhagen Denmark, circa 1965 by the artist, jeweler and sculptor John Victor Rørvig.

this very rare necklace is a unique one-of-a-kind piece, manufactured in solid yellow gold of 18 karats, with high polished finishes. the design is completely flexible and consists of 5 large sculptural elements connected to each other by bars with invisible pins. the lock is magisterially integrated with a discrete hinge and a figure 8 for extra security.

Embellished with 10 sugarloaf oval cabochons cuts (8 x 13 x 10 mm) of natural translucent Moonstones. all of them mounted in bezels with a combined weight of 74.40 carats.

Have a weight of 67.25 grams and fit very comfortable a neck up to 15.5 inches.

The width measure is 16.3 mm.

Signed with the maker's mark and stamped with the hallmarks, "JVR 18KT".

John Victor Rørvig, was born in Copenhagen Denmark in 1920. He was a Danish jeweler with a passion for metalwork, he started as a 14-year-old designing jewelry in gold and silver. When Alexandra Manley became engaged to prince Joachim of Denmark, he designed the wedding bands. John Rørvig handmade all his pieces and was known for his skill in goldsmithing. He made several pieces for the Danish royal family and since his death in 2006, John Rørvig jewelry is rarely seen at auction and has become highly sought after.

Provenance: A private collection in Dublin Ireland.

It is in perfect vintage condition with no previous repairs. the moonstones are gems quality with gorgeous adolescence phenomenon.
