-Germany 1920 Art Deco Enameled Mechanical Vesta Box In Sterling Silver With Dog

Vesta mechanical box made in Germany.

Stunning and very rare vesta match box, created in Germany during the art deco period, back in the 1920's. It was carefully crafted in solid ,925/.999 sterling silver and embellished with hot enamel. One side is applied with black and the other side show a standing dog with a cane, all in orange, white, red and black enamel.

The box is fitted with a mechanical push button and a tension spring for secure. Both parts match very well and are not deformed by dents or extreme use. The box retain inside the original felp to protect the matches heads. One corner has a ring attached to hang in a chain or a pocket watch.

Weight: 41.60 Grams, (26.67 Dwt).

Measurements: 43 mm by 40 mm by 12 mm (1.69 x 1.57 x 0.47 Inches).

Hallmarks: Stamped with the mark for the assay of the silver, the serial numbers and signed, ".925 983".

Collateral: It is accompanied by a presentation jewelry pouch.

Condition: The overall condition of this piece is very good. Beside the little normal wear, there is no damage to the silver. The black enamel has a minor chip in one corner. This piece has been carefully inspected to guarantee the condition and authenticity.
