Wood sautoir necklace designed by Jean Dinh Van.

This is a very rare and sophisticated design, created in Paris France by the artist and jewelry designer Jean Dinh Van, back in the 1970's. This long necklace sautoir-type has been crafted in solid yellow gold of 18 karats with high polished finish. The design is composed by a paper-clips links chain with six cushion shaped stations, which they are embellished with carvings of natural rose-woods. This piece blends perfectly with the geometric motif so dear to the Maison of Dinh Van

Jean Dinh Van

He is a French designer, that was born in 1927 from a French-Vietnamese family. His successful career started behind the workbench at the French jewelry house of Cartier in 1946 and then work for Pierre Cardin. In 1972 he started his own company and the followed years his revolutionary designs and style caught on quickly and launched him to the forefront of the jewelry and fashion world. All his designs are very geometric and modern, both, his original vintage pieces created for Cartier and the contemporary creations are highly collectible. Dinh Van pieces are very fashionable, sophisticate and easy to wear, also can be displayed as a small toys, sculptures and "Object's du Vertu". Since Jean Dinh Van, the first Parisian minimalist jeweler, left Cartier and opened his own shop at la Place Vendome in 1965, the brand has established itself as one of the premiere Parisian jewelers. He created timeless, show-stopping designs, such as this incredible lapis ring, that will make you stand out from the crowd.
