Clip-on earrings designed by David Webb (1925-1975).
Fabulous elegant pair of clips-on earrings, created in New York City at the jewelry atelier of David Webb, back in the 1970. These beautiful clips-on earrings has been crafted in solid yellow gold of 18 karats and four sections made up in platinum for the settings of the diamonds. They are high polished finish and embellished with applications of white glass hot enamel. The earrings are mounted with thirty-eight natural earth mined gemstones such: Afghani blue lapis lazuli and white colorless diamonds. They are fitted at the reverse with comfortable French omega backs for fastening clips and the addition of gold posts for pierced can be easily installed.
Diamonds: Mount in pave settings, with 36 graduated round brilliant cut diamonds, 3.68 carats, white colorless F color, VS-2 clarity.
Lapis Lazuli: Mounted in bezel settings, with 2 fancy fluted cabochons cuts (22 x 15 x 12 mm) carved from natural vivid blue lapis lazuli, with an estimate combined weight of about 38 carats.
Weight: 32.95 Grams (21.30 Dwt).
Measurements: 23 mm by 22 mm by 13 mm (0.91 x 0.87 x 0.52 Inches).
Hallmarks: They are both stamped with the maker's mark, the mark for the assay of the gold and signed, "©WEBB 18 KT PLAT".
David Webb
He was an American jeweler. On July 28, 1948, he founded David Webb, the company, which opened at 2 West 46th Street. Among his clients were Elizabeth Taylor, Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis and Barbara Streisand and Beyoncé have also worn his jewelry. He born in Asheville, North Carolina in 1925, Webb was a self-taught designer whose work included dragon bracelets, Maltese cross brooches and animal motifs. In 1964, The Duke of Windsor purchased a bracelet for his wife. Diana Vreeland, a noted columnist and editor of Harper’s Bazaar and Vogue, was often seen with a David Webb black-and-white enamel zebra bangle.

Condition: The overall condition of these earrings is excellent. Beside the little normal wear, there is no damage to the gold. The gemstones are secured in the settings. This piece has been carefully inspected to guarantee the condition and the authenticity.
