Pair of clips-on earrings designed by Verdura.
This is a gorgeous pair of clips-on earrings, created in Milano Italy by the renowned jewelry house of Verdura. These round clips have been carefully crafted in solid white gold of 18 karats with very high polished finish. Embellished with a matching pair of smokey quartzes and fifty-six white colorless diamonds. They are fitted at the reverse with very comfortable French hinged omega backs for fastening clips and the posts for pierced ears can be easily added.
Diamonds: Mounted in pave settings, with 56 calibrated round brilliant cut diamonds, 1.12 carats, white colorless F color, VS clarity.
Quartzes: The main body of each earring is mounted in bezel settings, with 2 round cabochons cut (18 x 18 x 10 mm) carved from natural translucent smokey quartz.
Weight: 14.95 Grams, (9.58 Dwt).
Measurements: 18 mm by 18 mm by 12 mm (0.71 x 0.71 x 0.47 Inches).
Hallmarks: They are both stamped with the maker's mark, the mark for the assay and warranty of the .750/.999 gold and signed, "©VERDURA 18KT".
Verdura
The Duke Fulco di Verdura (1899-1978) start his career as a designer in Paris in 1920, Creating the iconic Maltese cross cuff bracelet for his friend Coco Chanel. In the 1934 he moved to the United States and closely collaborate with Paul Flato in California, designing jewelry for the Hollywood stars of the new movie era, including Greta Garbo and Marlene Dietrich. In the 1939, he moved again, but this time to the city of New York and open the Verdura boutique, in the Fifth Avenue location. in that period Verdura gains the estimation of the very high-profile clientele in the new York's high society.
