Pair of clips-on earrings designed by Verdura.

A fabulous pair of clip-on earrings, created in Milano Italy by the renowned jewelry house of Verdura. These vintage ear clips are collector's pieces and has been carefully crafted with swirled shapes in solid yellow gold of 18 karats with high polished finish. The earrings are embellished with thirty-four natural earth mined gemstones such: white colorless diamonds and vivid red rubies. They are fitted at the reverse with very comfortable French hinged omega backs for fastening clips and the addition of posts for pierced ears can be easily done.

Diamonds: Mounted in four-prongs settings, with 12 calibrated round brilliant cuts diamonds, 0.60 carats, white colorless F color, VS-2 clarity.

Rubies: Mounted in four-prongs settings, with 22 calibrated round faceted cuts vivid red rubies with a combined weight of 1.42 carats.

Weight: Combined of 18.2 Grams, (11.67 Dwt).

Measurements: 22 mm by 23 mm by 12 mm (0.87 x 0.91 x 0.47 Inches).

Hallmarks: They are both stamped with the maker's mark, the mark for the assay of the gold and signed, "VERDURA .750".

Verdura

The Duke Fulco Di Verdura (1899-1978) start his career as a designer in Paris in 1920, Creating the iconic Maltese cross cuff bracelet for his friend Coco Chanel. In the 1934 he moved to the United States and closely collaborate with Paul Flato in California, designing jewelry for the Hollywood stars of the new movie era, including Greta Garbo and Marlene Dietrich. In the 1939, he moved again, but this time to the city of New York and open the Verdura boutique, in the Fifth Avenue location. in that period Verdura gain the estimation of the very high-profile clientele in the new York's high society.

ConditionThe overall condition of these earrings is excellent. Beside the little normal wear, there is no damage to the gold. The gemstones are secured in the settings. This piece has been carefully inspected to guarantee the condition and authenticity.
