This is a fabulous pair of convertible doorknocker earrings created in New York City at the jewelry atelier of Andrew Clunn. The earrings have been masterfully handcrafted in solid 18-karat rich yellow gold, designed with elegant fluted patterns and enhanced by a combination of hammered and polished finishes that create depth and movement. Conceived as a versatile day-to-night design, the pair can be worn as classic clips or with detachable dangle elements for a more dramatic look. They are fitted with comfortable French hinged omega backs for secure wear, and the addition of posts for pierced ears can be easily accomplished. A refined and sophisticated example of high-quality craftsmanship, combining versatility with timeless elegance.

Hallmarks Stamped with the maker's mark, the mark for the assay and warranty of the .750/.999 yellow gold and signed in full as follows, "A. CLUNN 18KT".

Andrew Clunn

He was born in England and moved to the United States where he worked as an apprentice to David Webb from 1963 until Webb’s death in 1975. During his 12 years of apprenticeship, he became a trusted employee and eventually become Webb's right-hand man and worked with well-known clients including Elizabeth Taylor and the Duchess of Windsor. In 1980, Clunn opened his own jewelry studio on Madison Avenue in New York City specializing in unique and distinctive jewelry designs for distinguished families in Europe and North America. He died in February 2016 in Rye,
