A watch brooch designed by Walser-Wald.

A whimsical piece of chinoiserie jewelry, created after the war during the mid-century period, circa 1950's. This beautiful brooch-watch was designed with art-deco and retro patterns, representing the figure of a man with oriental clothing and hat, walking and carrying a lantern, in this case the trunk of the watch.

It was carefully crafted with movable parts such the head and the lantern-watch, in solid yellow gold of 18 karats and .900 platinum accents for the gemstones settings, It is suited with a vertical hinged double pins to wear.

The platinum parts are mounted with 26 European cut diamonds (0.52 carats) and 7 round cut red rubies (0.42 carats).

The watch movement is mechanical, with golden dial, black arabic numerals and blackened steel hands.

Has a total weight of 42.95 Grams and a measurements of 50 mm by 68 mm (1.97 x 2.68 Inches)

Stamped, with the maker's mark, the hallmark for the assay of the 18kt gold and the platinum and signed, "W 18KT PLAT WALSER-WALD".

Walser Wald & Cia, was a famous jewelry store based in Buenos Aires, Argentina, located in Las Flores street. They were designers and retailers of luxury brands and was one of the most important boutiques in the city to acquire jewels and watches. They close in the beginning of the 1960. 

Collateral: It is accompanied by a presentation jewelry box.

Condition: The overall condition of this piece is excellent. Beside the little normal wear, there is no damage to the gold. All the gemstones, are secured in the settings. This piece has been carefully inspected to guarantee the condition and authenticity.
