Lentils necklace designed by Angela Cummings for Tiffany & Co.
This very rare and elegant lentils necklace, was created in New York city by Angela Cummings for Tiffany & Co., back in 1980. This modernist necklace has been crafted with multiples parts made up in solid .900/.999 platinum and forty-one lentils-shaped elements carved from metallic-gray hematite. The necklace is embellished with thirty sparkling natural white colorless diamonds and is fitted with an intricate hook as a closure system.
Hematite: Mounted in platinum settings, with 41 round double cabochons cuts, carved from natural gray hematite.
Diamonds: Mount in a pave setting, with 30 calibrated round brilliant cut diamonds, with a total weight of about 0.60 carats, white colorless F color, VS clarity.
Weight: 59.8 grams (38.35 Dwt).
Length: 16 Inches, (40.65 Cm).
Measurements: The width is 11 mm (0.43 inch).
Hallmarks: Stamped with the maker's mark, the mark for the assay and warranty of the platinum and signed as follows, "©T&CO. CUMMINS IRID PLAT".
Angela Cummings
She was born in 1944 in Klagenfurt in Austria. She take her education at the art academy in Perugia, Italy and at the Zeichenakademie in Hanau, West Germany. in the 1967 she joined Tiffany & Co working under the guidance of Donald Claflin and in the 1975, she was the artistic director for her exclusive line brand Cummings. in 1984 she started her own line of jewelry to be retailed exclusively at an in-boutique store at Bergdorf Goodman, in New York city. now she's retired from the jewelry business. This is a very nice and rare collector's piece, both her signed pieces for Tiffany & Co. created in the 1970's and 1980's and also her own exclusive pieces, remain highly collectible and are admired for their beauty, comfort and easily recognizably in style.
