Necklace pendant designed by Jean Schlumberger for Tiffany & Co.
An iconic pendant necklace, created by Jean Schlumberger at the Tiffany Studios in New York city, back in the 1976. It was carefully crafted in solid yellow gold of 18 karats with polished finish. Made in the shape of an easter egg trapped inside gold twisted wires. Fitted with a movable loop and a chain.
Gemstones: Mount with 1 egg shaped cabochon cut (8 x 8 x 5 mm) of a natural vivid blue lapis lazuli gemstone of 19.75 carats.
Weight: 13.65 Grams, (8.75 Dwt).
Size: The lenght of the chain is 26 Inches ()66 Cm.
Measurements: The pendant is 17 mm by 33 mm (0.67 x 1.30 Inches).
Hallmarks: Stamped with the maker's mark, the mark for the assay of the gold and signed, "TIFFANY & CO. SCHLUMBERGER STUDIOS .750".
Jean Schlumberger, was asked in 1956 by the president of Tiffany & Co. Walter Hovin to begin designing for the firm. He had his own workshop at the company until his retirement in the late 1970's and was eventually made vice president of the company. Schlumberger design's at tiffany were remarkable for their whimsical interpretation of natural forms. He was especially inspired by the sea creatures and others animals. He was an exceptional designer, jeweler and a master enameller.
